Multifunctional Dorm Space

Multifunctional Dorm Space

July 2, 2010 | Barbara's Blog

The summer will be over soon and students will be headed back to college to continue their studies. Many students will be heading to college for the first time, and what better way to put a nervous college student at ease than for them to have a cool trendy dorm room.

Many colleges today are still holding strong to the traditional housing of a 12′ X 19’room with two small desks, two twin beds, and two small closets.

Other colleges have transitioned to an apartment style concept where four students can occupy a single apartment unit. Each student is given their own room which can include a twin-sometimes full-bed,  closet, desk, and a private bath.

Even if a student has their own space or share a room, there will always been a need for more space. Some ideas to help conserve space could be investing in multifunctional furniture. This type of furniture has worked wonders to increase space in small areas and to give a single piece of furniture a longer usefulness to its owner. Multifunctional furniture also gives the desired space a trendy look.

Here are some examples of multifunctional furniture:

And good luck to all students beginning, or returning, to school in the fall!
