Atlanta, GA  January 4, 2011

How would the interior of Scarlett O’Hara’s home appear in 2011? The Next Cool Thing, a creative showcase of local vendors and designers, will include an exhibit that will answer that question. On Jan. 14, 2011, designer Barbara Heil-Sonnek will unveil a unique interpretation of how the “Gone with the Wind” antebellum home might appear today. Guests of the industry event will have the opportunity to slip into an interior design fantasy world and experience modern decor that is worthy of the southern diva. The contemporary space will be based on the original set design of the epic movie and will feature ultra-modern furnishings from Huff Furniture and Cort Furniture.

The sleek contemporary space will be part of a larger Twelve Oaks Plantation inspired exhibit entitled, “Gone with the Wind”, that will be a collaboration of designers and vendors including Heil-Sonneck, Susan Anderson and Barclay Stone. The environment will feature both a historical and modern space.

Design2Sell owner, Heil-Sonneck, is excited about the opportunity to design the modern section of the home and put a fresh spin on the circa 1860s set design.

“This classic design needs a new twist. I love this movie and I love modern design. It is exciting to be a part of this team and work with so many talented people,” she said.
