CEO and Creative Designer Barbara Heil-Sonneck and our Senior Property Stylist, Barbara Ader, just returned from the semi-annual High Point Furniture Market event in High Point, North Carolina, and they have tons of new information and products thanks to this fun week! The market is the perfect place for sourcing new furniture, art, design pieces and more. It’s also the top place to discover up-and-coming design trends, or learn what is on the way out.
Below, find the top trends, design changes and prettiest vignettes that Barbara and Barbara discovered while at High Point:
Monochromatic design schemes are slowly phasing out, and color is being incorporated more strongly. These bold colors are being seen even more often in artwork, décor and accent pieces.
Eclectic touches are being incorporated more and more into overall design schemes. From modern furniture paired with traditional elements to farmhouse designs paired with glam accents, mixing and matching décor styles, textures and time periods will continue.
Wood elements will continue to grow in popularity. Many rooms were showcased with a strong nature theme, and wood features both large and small are being added as focal points in a variety of rooms.
Velvet isn’t just making a comeback in fashion – it’s making a comeback in home design, too!
Nesting tables are continuing to increase in popular, and we’re seeing them everywhere! They are functional space-savers that are great for rooms large and small. They’re great as end tables, side tables, nightstands or even coffee tables.
No matter where you look, faces are staring back in home décor! This new trend incorporates faces into décor and accent pieces, art and even art installations.
What trends are your favorite for home décor in 2018? It’s hard to pick our favorite trend!
