November is winding down and the Christmas season is in full swing! With all the shopping, cooking and preparing you are doing, don’t forget to add in some fun holiday activities the whole family can enjoy. Here is a list of just a few of our favorite holiday events taking place in and around Atlanta this December:
Atlantic Station is pulling out all the stops this year with the opening of Winter Wonder Lane on Market Street. Take a trip to visit Santa at the North Pole or stroll down a snow-covered street sipping warm coco on Winter Wonder Lane. This setup by Atlantic Station will get you into the Christmas spirt faster than you can say “Happy Holidays.” SKATE Atlantic Station is adjacent to Winter Wonder Lane for anyone who wants to test their skills in a true Rockefeller Park fashion on an 8,000 square foot ice rink with plenty of lights. Christkindl Market is also up and running with more than enough sweets and warm drinks to go around. Make sure to visit Atlanta’s only authentic German Christkindl market when visiting Winter Wonder Lane. To close off the night, head over to Santa’s Cottage for special pictures with Old Saint Nick. Make sure you bring your Christmas list!
Get down to the Georgia Aquarium for the annual Festival of the SEAson event. You will hardly recognize the spacious plaza after it gets turned into a fabulous underwater winter wonderland. Fun events taking place all season include a light and music show and appearances by Santa and SCUBA Clause!
Named One of the Best Christmas Events in Georgia, Holiday in the Park is back at Six Flags Over Georgia. From now until January 5, head over to Six Flags to experience their winter wonderland set up with fun interactive activities to help put you in the Christmas spirit! Thousands of LED lights are scattered around the park with beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Try and see them all while enjoying carolers singing the best holiday classics.
For a fun holiday event even the pups can enjoy, get to Atlanta Botanical Garden for the annual Reindog Parade! The event will be emceed by Victoria Stilwell of Animal Planet’s It’s Me or the Dog and Vincent Martinez, founder of Doggies on the Catwalk. Get your dog dressed up in the latest holiday costumes and go watch the parade! There will also be plenty of fun prizes, photo opportunities and treats galore!
